A Note from the President

Hello, and welcome! My name is Emily Wollenberg, and I am the President of the Beta Omicron chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Oklahoma City University. Gamma Phi Beta is an organization based in the values of love, labor, learning, and loyalty. Our mission is to inspire the highest type of womanhood, and we work toward this mission by supporting our national philanthropic platform, “Building Strong Girls,” and our local philanthropic platform, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. We are so passionate about both philanthropies, because they inspire young girls to become confident women of character and help, support, and empower women who are in need.

Being a woman of Gamma Phi Beta means to be a woman of strength, dignity, and influence. Gamma Phi Beta has taught me many important life skills about leadership, responsibility, and self-confidence. Through this sisterhood, I have realized how special it is to be surrounded by women who strive to be strong mentors for young girls and unite in women empowerment. This organization motivates women to be confident leaders and mentors, active community members, advocates for change, and loyal friends.

Our organization is filled with a diverse group of women who excel in many different areas; these are truly some of the most intelligent, hard-working woman I have ever met. I have watched so many of my sisters learn and grow through this organization and accomplish incredible things throughout their academic and professional careers. Gamma Phi Beta has fostered so many life-long friendships, influential experiences, and amazing opportunities for me throughout my time in college. I would not be the same strong woman I am today without the influence and guidance of this empowering sisterhood.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our organization! We are so excited to share the light of our sisterhood with you.

“I'm constantly learning, and that is the greatest gift of life in my opinion—to always be learning and growing.”

– Kristin Chenoweth, Beta Omicron alumna, 1990
